Technorati
I think I came in at the wrong end of this one. They have just done a redesign of the Technorati site, and I can't find ANY blogs about children's books. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? But it was also having site issues, etc. I think technorati is probably a great idea, since how do people find out about blogs anyway? All the blogs that I have gone on have come to me by word of mouth. I usually check them once and then I forget all about them. I like the "follow" feature, and I just added myself as a follower to a friend's site about teen books. Her site is GreenBeanTeenQueen, and I knew her in college. Who knew we would both end up as children's librarians? We met doing theater. I knew we were kindred spirits when I asked her what her favorite book was and it was a kids book. :)
Okay, for real this time
I missed the beginning of this program when I was on maternity leave, so now I am pressuring myself to get it finished by the deadline of November 15th. It isn't really about the gift cards, although that would be nice. It is really because I know that I would put it off forever, because I have so many things that are a higher priority right now. But of course, that is the problem with lifelong learning--it isn't necessary, but it is essential. And that is why I put off anything. And it is daunting. So I am here on my day off, ready to make a dent!

Yanchicken, you say?
You may well ask why I chose Yanchicken for the title of my blog. I can only blame it on working on a Friday night, combined with singing the shaky egg song a few too many times this week. And, I ripped it off from my husband's fantasy football team name, to be honest. It is too late in the week to be witty for me!
